Air – Water

Air-Water

The range of air-to-water heat pumps from 1 to 9 kW is a compact, quiet, and energy-efficient solution, specifically designed to meet the needs of the residential sector. Thanks to our KITA XS range, a single system can manage winter heating, summer cooling, and Domestic Hot Water (DHW) production, reducing energy costs while respecting the environment.

Features and benefits of the 1–9 kW range

Air-to-water heat pumps up to 9 kW are specifically designed to meet the thermal requirements of residential applications. Available in two power versions (XS 7.5 with 7.5 kW and XS 9 with 9 kW), this technology combines superior indoor comfort with low thermal output, while preserving valuable space on balconies or in small gardens.

Here are the main features that distinguish this range:

  • Ultra-compact, space-saving dimensions: with a depth of just 435 mm, the unit is designed to minimize both physical and visual footprint, allowing it to blend seamlessly even into the most restricted spaces.
  • “Zero Distance” installation: thanks to the innovative front air intake and top or side air discharge system, the unit can be installed directly against a wall.
  • Clean aesthetic integration: the unit is compatible with technical cabinets, a solution specifically designed to conceal and house all system components, ensuring a clean and visually appealing installation.

These specific features are complemented by the technological advantages that characterize the entire Templari heat pump range: extremely quiet operation, smart remote management, and the use of environmentally friendly refrigerants such as R290.

Air-to-Water Heat Pumps 10–49 kW

Air-to-water heat pumps from 10 to 49 kW represent the most advanced technological solution for applications that require the management of high thermal loads in large-scale systems. Developed to deliver outstanding performance even under the most severe climatic conditions, this range of high-capacity heat pumps provides efficient centralized climate control for the entire building.

With a single robust and advanced system, it is possible to fully meet the demand for winter heating, summer cooling, and Domestic Hot Water (DHW) production in large residential, commercial, or business environments, while eliminating direct emissions and significantly reducing operating costs.

Frequently asked questions about 1-9 kW heat pumps

How do they work?

Air-to-water models transfer thermal energy from the outside air to the water in your heating system. This makes it possible to heat and cool indoor spaces (via radiators or underfloor heating) and to produce Domestic Hot Water (DHW).

How much space do the units require?

The KITA XS range has been specifically engineered to minimize space requirements on balconies and in small gardens. Here are its exact dimensions:

  • XS with top air discharge: 1000 mm (Height) x 1000 mm (Width) x 435 mm (Depth)
  • XS with side air discharge: 1205 mm (Height) x 1000 mm (Width) x 435 mm (Depth)
Can they be integrated with photovoltaic panels?

Absolutely. All our heat pumps work in perfect synergy with photovoltaic systems. The unit intelligently uses the electricity generated by the solar panels to provide heating, cooling, and hot water. This results in a much more sustainable home and a significant reduction in energy bills.

Are they suitable for replacing a gas boiler during a renovation?

Yes, the XS model can be easily integrated with existing systems in the home, ensuring a smooth transition.

Frequently asked questions about 10-49 kW heat pumps

How do they work?

The basic principle is the same as for smaller units (they transfer free thermal energy from the outside air to the water in the system), but applied on an industrial scale. These high-capacity heat pumps heat or cool large volumes of water, which are then distributed throughout the building via the centralized system (radiant panels, fan coils, or radiator circuits). They are equipped with highly efficient compressors designed for continuous operation and to ensure Domestic Hot Water production for dozens of users simultaneously, while maintaining excellent performance even at extreme outdoor temperatures (down to -25°C).

Can multiple units be connected in cascade?

Yes, the system offers complete flexibility. Thanks to our Multi Kita system, multiple units can be easily connected in cascade to combine their output. This makes it possible to create a customized centralized system that is scalable according to the building’s actual thermal requirements and highly reliable: having multiple units (redundancy) ensures that the main system never stops completely, maintaining continuity of service even when a single unit is undergoing maintenance.

Are the systems quiet?

Absolutely. Despite their high output, the advanced engineering of these units ensures exceptional acoustic comfort. This is an essential requirement, especially when large centralized systems are installed outside apartment buildings, hotels, or next to operating offices. Our integrated accessories, such as the Flow Grid and Silenzio Kit, further help reduce noise levels and are specifically designed to minimize sound emissions.

To give you a concrete example: the KITA SP (R290) model, already equipped with the Flow Grid and Silenzio Kit, has a maximum sound pressure level of just 50 dB(A) at a distance of 1 meter, an excellent value for this market segment.

What is the largest heat pump in the range?

As individual units, the most powerful models are the KITA LP PLUS (which uses R290 refrigerant and delivers up to 40 kW of heating capacity) and the KITA LR PLUS (which uses R32 refrigerant and delivers up to 48.67 kW). However, for even higher requirements, there is no practical limit: by using the Multi Kita cascade connection system, we can easily exceed these capacities to serve any large residential, commercial, or industrial complex.

Industrial air-to-water heat pumps: ideal environments and applications

Unlike the 1-9 kW range, designed for single users or small independent residential spaces, the 10 to 49 kW range is a higher-level solution, engineered to handle massive and complex thermal loads. It is the reference technological choice for those who need to design a centralized, reliable system capable of heating and cooling large volumes, both in residential settings and in the commercial and tertiary sectors.
